The first year of the County Road 2 (Broadway Avenue) reconstruction is complete. From May 2011 to October 2011, construction efforts concentrated on reconstructing the Broadway Avenue interchange area, implementing the new Backage Road, and reconstructing Broadway Avenue from 19th Street to 7th Street. Roadway reconstruction from 7th Street to Centennial Avenue will occur next year, starting in Spring 2012.

According to construction staging plan developed for the project, the contractor has completed Stages 1 through 4 and some aspects of Stage 5. This enabled the contractor to remove the local detour route and the temporary ramps to/from the interstate. When construction resumes in Spring 2012, the contractor will start by completing Stage 5 which includes reconstructing the north side of Broadway Avenue between 7th Street and Centennial Drive. Stage 6 and Stage 7 will focus on reconstructing the south side of Broadway Avenue and the medians in this area respectively. Construction is complete.

Hardwood Creek Trail Bridge is now complete. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 1.

Construction on the Hardwood Creek Trail Bridge over County Road 83 began on October 24, 2011. Crews will work this Fall until the winter weather forces them to stop for the season. Work will resume in Spring 2012 and is scheduled to be complete Fall 2012.
